Ingredients

  • 4 to 5 lb venison, cut in cubes
  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 glove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 4 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 potatoes, cubed
  • 2 medium onions, cut in wedges
  • 4 carrots, sliced
  • 1 can tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Marinate venison in red wine vinegar for 3 to 4 hours; drain.
  2. Transfer venison to a large pot and cover with water.
  3. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Add minced garlic and chili powder.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  6. Stir in chopped celery, cubed potatoes, onion wedges, sliced carrots, and canned tomatoes.
  7. Simmer for another 25 minutes until vegetables are tender and flavors meld.
