Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 quarts broth or soup

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Add the chicken broth and vegetable oil, stirring until the dry ingredients are moistened.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and form into a ball.
  4. Roll the dough to a 1/16-inch thickness and cut into diamonds or preferred shapes.
  5. Drop the dumplings into boiling broth or soup.
  6. Cover and cook for about 15 minutes or until the dumplings are tender.
