Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • handful chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Beat butter and shortening on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Beat until well combined.
  3. Mix in flour using a spoon if necessary. Chill the dough for about 45 minutes or until easy to handle.
  4. Shape the dough into small balls and place them on a greased cookie sheet.
  5. Place one chocolate chip onto each ball, flattening it slightly.
  6. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 8 to 10 minutes.
