Lomi Salmon is a traditional Hawaiian dish featuring cured salmon mixed with fresh tomatoes, onions, scallions, and a tangy lemon-vinegar marinade, perfect for casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. salmon fillet
  • 1 large onion
  • 3 medium tomatoes
  • 3 scallions
  • 1 Tbsp. cilantro
  • 3 lemons
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Remove the skin from the salmon fillet and cut it into small squares.
  2. Cut 3 lemons in half and squeeze the juice into a bowl, removing all seeds.
  3. Place the salmon squares in the lemon juice and add 1/2 cup white vinegar and a teaspoon of salt.
  4. Refrigerate the mixture overnight.
