Ingredients

  • 3 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 c. cream
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 (7 oz.) jar Marshmallow Creme
  • 1 c. butterscotch chips
  • 1 c. chocolate chips
  • nuts if desired

Instructions

  1. Boil the mixture until it makes a soft ball when dropped into cold water.
  2. Remove from heat; add Marshmallow Creme, butterscotch chips, chocolate chips, and nuts if desired.
  3. Mix everything together thoroughly.
  4. Pour into a greased platter and let it set before cutting into pieces.

Tips & Substitutions

For a smoother fudge, make sure to stir constantly while boiling to prevent burning. If you're out of butterscotch chips, you can substitute with peanut butter chips for a different flavor. Adding a pinch of salt can enhance the sweetness. Make sure to use a candy thermometer for accuracy if you're unsure about the soft ball stage.

Serving Suggestions

Cut the fudge into small squares for an easy treat, and consider pairing it with a cup of coffee or tea. It also makes a delightful gift when wrapped in decorative paper. For an indulgent dessert, serve it alongside a scoop of Easy Chocolate Ice Cream for a decadent combination.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftover fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. If it's warm in your area, it's best to refrigerate to maintain its texture. To reheat, cut into small pieces and microwave in short bursts, stirring in between, until soft but not melted.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use different types of chocolate chips?

Absolutely! You can use milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or even white chocolate chips to customize the flavor of your fudge. Just keep in mind that the sweetness level may vary based on the type of chocolate you choose.

How can I make this fudge less sweet?

To reduce the sweetness, consider using unsweetened chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet or adding more nuts to balance the flavors. You can also reduce the amount of granulated sugar slightly, but make sure not to alter the overall consistency too much.

Can I add other mix-ins to the fudge?

Definitely! Feel free to incorporate dried fruits, such as cranberries or raisins, or even crushed cookies for added texture. Just remember to adjust the proportions to maintain the fudge's consistency.
