Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. cocoa
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Melt butter and shortening in a large saucepan over low heat. Stir in cocoa.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; stir in the chocolate mixture.
  3. Add chopped nuts and mix well.
  4. Spread the mixture in a well-greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
