Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked chicken or turkey
  • 1 cup cream of chicken soup
  • 3/4 cup Miracle Whip
  • 1 cup celery, cooked slightly
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 teaspoon grated onion
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 can water chestnuts
  • 2/3 cup slivered almonds
  • 1 cup crushed buttered cornflakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a 2-quart casserole dish, mix cooked chicken or turkey, cream of chicken soup, Miracle Whip, cooked celery, cooked rice, grated onion, lemon juice, water chestnuts, and salt.
  3. Spread slivered almonds evenly on top of the mixture.
  4. Then spread crushed buttered cornflakes over the almonds.
  5. Bake uncovered for 25 minutes until heated through and topping is golden.
