Ingredients

  • 4 cups cooked macaroni
  • 1 pound hamburger
  • 1/2 cup sliced peeled onions
  • 2 cups canned tomatoes
  • 2 pounds butter, margarine or bacon fat
  • 1 cup grated cheese

Instructions

  1. Sauté sliced peeled onions in butter until golden.
  2. Add hamburger; cook slowly until done.
  3. Drain excess fat from the meat.
  4. Grease a casserole dish.
  5. Combine cooked macaroni with all ingredients, including half of the grated cheese.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Turn the mixture into the casserole dish.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining grated cheese over the top.
  9. Bake at 375°F for 30 minutes.
