Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Mix 1 1/2 cups sugar, margarine, shortening, and eggs until well combined.
  3. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt until the dough is smooth.
  4. Shape the dough into rounded teaspoonfuls and form into balls.
  5. Combine 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  6. Roll each dough ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until coated.
  7. Place the coated balls 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  8. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until lightly browned.
  9. Remove cookies immediately from the sheet and cool.
