Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. cottage cheese
  • 1 box lasagna noodles
  • 1 egg
  • 1 large jar spaghetti sauce
  • 8 oz. Mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 3 to 4 oz. Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Brown ground beef and drain grease. Cook lasagna noodles; drain.
  3. Add spaghetti sauce to meat and let simmer over low heat.
  4. Grate Mozzarella cheese; set aside.
  5. Add 1 beaten egg to cottage cheese; set aside.
  6. In a casserole dish, lightly grease sides and bottom.
  7. Place ground meat mixture on the bottom of the dish.
  8. Add a layer of noodles, then cottage cheese mixture, then Mozzarella cheese.
  9. Repeat layers until ingredients are used, ending with a cheese layer.
  10. If any meat mixture is left, put it on top of the casserole.
  11. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top; cover well.
  12. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbling.
  13. Turn on broiler; place dish under broiler until lightly browned, watching closely to prevent burning.
