Ingredients

  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 cup cocoa
  • 3 teaspoons soda
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Sift together the flour, cocoa, soda, and salt.
  2. Cream together the sugar and mayonnaise.
  3. Add the sifted ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternately with water, beating after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla.
  5. Pour the batter into a prepared baking pan and bake at 350°F until done.
