Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 pound beef stew meat
  • 1 onion
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound carrots
  • 1 box frozen peas
  • cayenne pepper
  • 4 potatoes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat a pot on medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes.
  2. Add vegetable oil to the pot.
  3. Brown the beef stew meat in the oil.
  4. Add sliced white onion to the browned meat.
  5. Turn the heat to low.
  6. Stir in the small can of tomato sauce, water from the sauce can, a dash of cayenne pepper, and salt.
  7. Cut up carrots and add them along with the frozen peas.
  8. Cook covered for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  9. Add potatoes if desired.
  10. Cook for an additional 25 minutes.
