Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 2/3 cup margarine
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Using a mixer, whip the shortening, margarine, brown sugar, white sugar, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix by hand until just moistened.
  4. Scoop 1 1/2 packages each of vanilla, chocolate, and butterscotch chips onto a cookie tray.
  5. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10 to 11 minutes until golden brown.
