Many Layer Salad is a colorful, flavorful chilled dish featuring fresh vegetables, cheese, bacon, and a tangy mayonnaise-vinegar dressing, perfect for potlucks and family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 qt. spinach, chopped stems too
  • 3 hard-cooked eggs
  • 1 large onion, chopped fine
  • 1/4 lb. bacon, cubed fine and cooked crisp
  • 1 (8 1/2 oz.) can LeSueur peas
  • 1 qt. lettuce (Boston head), chopped fine
  • 1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1 can water chestnuts, sliced thin
  • 3/4 c. mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Layer the ingredients in order given, spreading each evenly.
  2. Cover closely with Saran Wrap and refrigerate for 12 to 24 hours.
  3. Before serving, mix the salad gently to combine the layers.
