Ingredients

  • 1 c. Crisco oil
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. dark maple syrup
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/3 c. flour
  • 1 1/3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. quick cooking oatmeal

Instructions

  1. Combine shortening, sugar, and maple syrup in a bowl. Stir in eggs.
  2. Add vanilla. Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Add to batter and stir in oatmeal.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
  4. Bake in a 350°F oven for about 35 minutes.
  5. Cut into squares while warm.
