Maple Syrup Corn Bread

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. cornmeal
  • 1 c. whole wheat flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 1/2 c. maple syrup
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 3 Tbsp. melted butter

Instructions

  1. Mix first 4 ingredients.
  2. Add remaining ingredients.
  3. Stir until well blended, but do not beat.
  4. Pour into a well-greased 9 x 9-inch pan.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes at 400°.
  6. Cut into squares and serve warm with butter.
