Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 6 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon maple flavoring
  • 1/2 cup margarine, melted
  • brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Sift flour with baking powder; set aside.
  2. Cream together margarine and brown sugar.
  3. Add eggs, milk, vanilla, and maple flavoring to the creamed mixture.
  4. Mix in the flour mixture until well combined.
  5. Divide the dough into 5 parts, roll each into a thin sheet.
  6. Spread each sheet with melted margarine and sprinkle with brown sugar, nuts, and cinnamon.
  7. Fold each sheet toward the center repeatedly to form a layered effect.
  8. Cut into strips and twist each strip.
  9. Bake at 375°F for 12 minutes.
  10. Frost when cool.
