Maple Walnut Cups

Ingredients

  • 1 c. flour
  • 6 Tbsp. margarine, softened
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1 Tbsp. butter or oleo
  • 1/4 c. dark corn syrup
  • 1/4 tsp. maple extract
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Knead together the first 3 ingredients until well blended; divide into 16 pieces.
  2. Press onto bottom and sides of tassie pans. Sprinkle walnuts in bottom of lined pans.
  3. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in saucepan; remove from heat.
  4. Stir the corn syrup, extract and egg into melted butter.
  5. Spoon syrup mixture on top.
  6. Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Makes approximately 16.
