Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. yellow squash
  • 1 medium onion
  • 10 oz. cream of chicken soup
  • 3/4 c. sharp cheese, shredded
  • 8 oz. sour cream
  • 8 oz. water chestnuts, drained
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1/4 c. sliced almonds
  • 6 oz. corn bread mix or bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Cook yellow squash and chopped onion until tender.
  2. Drain the cooked squash and onions, then mash.
  3. Add cream of chicken soup, shredded sharp cheese, sour cream, drained water chestnuts, margarine, and sliced almonds to the mashed mixture; stir to combine.
  4. Transfer to a baking dish and bake until heated through and bubbly.
