Tips & Substitutions
For a heartier soup, consider adding diced carrots or bell peppers for extra flavor and nutrition. If you're looking for a vegetarian option, substitute the meat with lentils or mushrooms. Adjust the seasonings to your liking; adding a dash of hot sauce can elevate the dish. Fresh herbs like thyme or bay leaves can also enhance the soup's aroma.
Serving Suggestions
Serve the soup hot, accompanied by crusty fresh bread for dipping. A sprinkle of fresh parsley adds a nice touch of color and flavor. This cabbage soup pairs beautifully with Chicken Pie With Vegetables for a comforting meal, or enjoy it alongside a simple salad for a lighter option.
Storage & Reheating
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. To reheat, simply warm the soup on the stove over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until heated through. You can also microwave individual portions, but be sure to cover them to avoid splatters.
