Ingredients

  • 1 large package frozen hash browns
  • 1 small chopped onion
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 1 pint sour cream
  • 1 cup grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 2 cups crushed corn flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Thaw the hash browns and mix with melted butter.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine sour cream, cream of chicken soup, grated Cheddar cheese, and chopped onion.
  3. Mix the sour cream mixture with the potatoes.
  4. Pour the combined mixture into a 9 x 12-inch baking dish.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes to 1 hour until bubbly and golden.
  6. Optional: sprinkle crushed corn flakes on top before baking for added crunch.
