Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 6 slices soft bread, cubed
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 oz sharp grated cheese
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground pork in a skillet, drain excess fat, then crumble it into a 13 x 9-inch baking dish along with the cubed bread slices.
  2. In a bowl, beat the eggs and add 2 cups of milk.
  3. Stir in grated cheese, salt, and pepper into the egg mixture.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the pork and bread in the baking dish.
  5. Refrigerate, covered, overnight to allow flavors to meld.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour until set and golden brown.
  7. Optional: Add mushrooms, green peppers, bacon, or ham instead of sausage for variation.
