Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. margarine
  • 2 tsp. olive oil
  • 2 cloves crushed garlic
  • 1 small diced white onion
  • 2 Tbsp. crushed basil
  • 1 Tbsp. crushed oregano
  • 1 tsp. crushed red pepper
  • 2 (14 oz.) cans stewed tomatoes
  • 1 (7 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 2 Tbsp. honey
  • 1 pinch thyme

Instructions

  1. In a 2-quart saucepan under medium heat, sauté onion, garlic, and crushed red pepper in margarine and olive oil until tender.
  2. Add basil, oregano, and thyme to the saucepan.
  3. Pour in stewed tomatoes, roughly chopping up the individual tomatoes to the desired consistency.
  4. Add tomato paste and mix thoroughly.
  5. Stir in honey and turn down heat to low.
  6. Simmer, stirring frequently, for about 20 minutes. Serve with pasta of choice.
