Delightful canapés featuring toasted rye bread topped with creamy onion- parsley spread and melted Swiss cheese, perfect for elegant parties or light appetizers. Garnish with olives for extra flair.

Ingredients

  • Pepperidge Farm rye bread rounds
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise or Miracle Whip
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons snipped parsley
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese

Instructions

  1. Toast the rye bread rounds on both sides lightly.
  2. Combine mayonnaise or Miracle Whip, finely chopped onion, and snipped parsley.
  3. Spread the mixture on the toasted bread rounds.
  4. Cut out rounds of Swiss cheese to fit on each toast.
  5. Broil the canapés until the cheese melts.
  6. Optional: add a slice of ripe black olive on top for decoration after broiling.
