Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. Duncan Hines golden butter cake mix
  • 1 stick butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 box (1 lb.) powdered sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the Duncan Hines golden butter cake mix, melted butter or margarine, egg, and chopped nuts; mix until smooth.
  3. Press the batter evenly into an ungreased 9 x 13‑inch pan.
  4. In a separate bowl, blend the powdered sugar, two eggs, and cream cheese until creamy and well combined.
  5. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the cake batter, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool in the pan before slicing and serving.
