Ingredients

  • 1 (1 lb.) can cream-style corn
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup salad oil or melted shortening
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (4 oz.) can California green chiles, seeded and chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix all ingredients except green chiles and cheese in the order given, starting with wet ingredients followed by dry ingredients.
  3. Fold in chopped green chiles and shredded Cheddar cheese.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown on top.
