Ingredients

  • 2 lb. round steak, cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup chili sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. paprika
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 2 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1 (8 oz.) can mushrooms
  • 1 (8 oz.) sour cream

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat cooking oil over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until softened.
  3. Add bite-size pieces of round steak and cook until browned.
  4. Pour in water, chili sauce, and seasonings: paprika, chili powder, seasoned salt, and soy sauce.
  5. Add the can of mushrooms and stir to combine.
  6. Simmer uncovered for about 20-25 minutes until the beef is tender and sauce has thickened.
  7. Stir in sour cream just before serving. Optionally, add 1/4 cup green chili salsa for extra flavor.
  8. Serve hot over rice, noodles, or with warm tortillas.
