Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 (5 oz.) pkg. instant mashed potato flakes
  • 1 1/4 c. milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c. catsup
  • 1 Tbsp. onion flakes
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 6 slices American cheese
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine

Instructions

  1. Combine ground beef, 1 cup instant potato flakes, 1 cup milk, egg, catsup, onion flakes, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Spread into a 9-inch glass pie plate.
  2. Cover the pie with wax paper.
  3. Microwave on high for 16 minutes, turning the dish 1/4 turn every 4 minutes.
  4. Arrange 2 slices of American cheese on top of the beef mixture.
  5. Cover and let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
