Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 lb. chicken
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup diced green peppers
  • 16 oz. can crushed tomatoes
  • 16 oz. can chili beans
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 pint water
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Tabasco sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil the chicken until done, then cool and pull off the bone.
  2. Add diced onion, diced green peppers, water, and crushed tomatoes to a pot.
  3. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 30 minutes.
  4. Add chili powder, cumin, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Simmer for an additional hour, preferably allowing flavors to meld overnight.
  6. Serve hot, with optional Tabasco sauce.
