Juicy, flavorful minced meatballs are perfect for gatherings or family dinners, paired with a sweet and tangy pie filling sauce for a comforting, savory dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1/3 cup bread crumbs
  • 10 crackers
  • 1 (2 1/4 oz.) can Underwood deviled ham
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 22 oz. minced pie filling

Instructions

  1. Combine eggs, bread crumbs, ham, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Add ground beef and mix well.
  3. Shape the mixture into 6 dozen tiny meatballs and place in a shallow baking pan.
  4. Bake at 375°F for 12 to 14 minutes or until done.
  5. Cool the meatballs.
  6. Remove from the pan.
  7. Cover and chill.
  8. When ready to serve, combine pie filling, apple juice or cider, and vinegar in a saucepan and heat until bubbly.
  9. Add the chilled meatballs to the sauce and keep warm, adding additional juice if it becomes too thick.
