Ingredients

  • 1 round steak
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or shortening
  • 1 (4 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 sliced onion

Instructions

  1. Cut the round steak into serving portions.
  2. Combine flour, salt, and pepper in a medium-sized bowl.
  3. Roll the steak pieces in the flour mixture, coating both sides.
  4. Melt shortening or butter in a hot skillet.
  5. Brown the meat on both sides but do not fully cook it.
  6. Place the browned meat in a crock-pot.
  7. Add tomato sauce, sliced onion, and sliced green pepper to the crock-pot.
  8. Cook on low for 6 to 12 hours or on high for up to 6 hours.
