Instructions
- Sift flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves onto a sheet of waxed paper.
- Bring water to a boil.
- Add raisins and sugar and boil for 10 minutes.
- Remove from the heat.
- Add butter, walnuts, and the dry ingredients.
- Mix well and spoon into two greased loaf pans.
- Bake at 350°F for 45 to 50 minutes.
- Loaf pans may be lined with foil to make removal easier; the foil should also be greased.
