Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, melt the unsalted butter and let it cool slightly.
  4. Add sour cream, large egg, and vanilla to the melted butter, whisking until well combined.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently fold until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups.
