Tips & Substitutions

For a richer flavor, consider adding a teaspoon of espresso powder along with the instant coffee. If you don't have margarine, unsalted butter is a great substitute. Ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature to achieve a smooth texture. You can use gluten-free Oreo cookies for a gluten-free option.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this Mocha Cheesecake chilled, topped with a dollop of whipped cream or Cool Whip for added indulgence. It pairs beautifully with a strong cup of coffee or a rich dessert wine. Consider serving it alongside fresh berries or a light fruit salad to balance the richness.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. If you want to freeze the cheesecake, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and then foil; it can last up to three months. Thaw in the fridge overnight before serving.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make this cheesecake ahead of time?

Absolutely! This cheesecake can be made a day or two in advance. Just ensure it's properly stored in the fridge, as it needs time to set well. This makes it perfect for entertaining or special occasions.

What can I use instead of Oreo cookies for the crust?

If you're looking for a different flavor, you can use graham crackers or chocolate wafer cookies. For a gluten-free option, try gluten-free chocolate cookies. Just crush them and mix with the same amount of margarine.

How do I know when the cheesecake is set?

The cheesecake is set when the edges are firm and the center is slightly jiggly but not liquid. It will continue to firm up as it cools in the refrigerator. Aim for at least four hours of chilling time, or overnight for best results.
