Ingredients

  • 2 lb ground chuck
  • 1 c onion, diced
  • 1/2 c green pepper, diced
  • 1 c fresh mushrooms, diced
  • 16 oz can tomato puree
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • pinch of pepper
  • pinch of basil
  • pinch of oregano

Instructions

  1. Sauté onion, green pepper, and mushrooms in 1 tablespoon of butter; drain.
  2. Add the sautéed vegetables to the browned ground beef.
  3. Add spices: a pinch of pepper, basil, and oregano.
  4. Add tomato puree and simmer over low heat for one hour.
  5. Cook and drain spaghetti according to package instructions.
  6. Combine the meat sauce with the cooked spaghetti.
  7. Add 1 tablespoon of butter and cook until flavors meld, approximately 20 minutes.
  8. Let it rest for a day for enhanced flavor. Serve topped with Parmesan cheese.
