Ingredients

  • 1 lb. bulk lean pork sausage
  • 4 slices white bread
  • 1/2 lb. mild Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 8 eggs, beaten
  • 3 c. milk

Instructions

  1. Cook sausage in a skillet until the color changes, but do not brown. Drain the excess fat.
  2. In a 9 x 14 x 2-inch baking dish, place the bread slices in the bottom.
  3. Sprinkle the cooked sausage evenly over the bread.
  4. Cover with grated Cheddar cheese.
  5. Combine beaten eggs and milk; pour the mixture over the cheese and bread.
  6. Cover the dish and refrigerate overnight.
  7. In the morning, bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 25 to 30 minutes until set and light brown.
