Instructions
- Mix dry ingredients, except for soda.
- Add soda to buttermilk and stir together with dry ingredients.
- Heat bacon grease in a large iron skillet or heavy pan until hot.
- Stir about half of the bacon grease into the batter.
- Pour the batter into the hot skillet with the remaining bacon grease in it.
- Bake for about 25 minutes at 450°F until golden brown and cooked through.
