Ingredients

  • 1 large pan cornbread
  • 1 package Pepperidge Farm stuffing
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped onions
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped celery
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 4 large eggs, beaten
  • 3 or 4 teaspoons sage
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Sauté chopped onions and celery in melted oleo until softened, not browned.
  2. Crumble the cornbread into a large bowl and add the cooked celery and onions.
  3. Add beaten eggs to the mixture.
  4. Mix everything well until combined.
  5. Stir in sage, salt, and pepper to taste.
  6. Gradually add hot broth until the stuffing holds together.
  7. Pour the mixture into a large cake pan and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven, pour about 1 cup of broth over the top, and bake for an additional 20 to 25 minutes until lightly browned.
