Nanny's Dumplings are soft, tender dough pockets cooked in rich hen broth, perfect for comforting family meals and showcasing classic homemade flavors.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups plain flour
  • 3/4 cup cold water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Broth from hen

Instructions

  1. Boil hen to make a rich broth.
  2. Mix flour, salt, and cold water together until the dough can be rolled out thin.
  3. Cut the dough into small pieces approximately 1½ x 2 inches.
  4. Bring the broth to a rolling boil and drop the dumplings in one at a time, shaking the pot frequently; do not stir.
  5. Cook the dumplings for 4 to 5 minutes until done.
  6. Add deboned chicken pieces to the broth before adding the dumplings.
