Ingredients

  • 10 oz. package cut broccoli in cheese sauce
  • 2/3 cup chopped onion
  • 6 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 5 cups milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons instant chicken bouillon

Instructions

  1. Cook broccoli in cheese sauce according to package directions, only until thawed.
  2. Place cooked broccoli and cheese sauce in a blender and blend until finely chopped.
  3. Sauté chopped onion in butter until tender.
  4. Stir in flour until smooth.
  5. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.
  6. Add seasonings, chicken bouillon, and grated broccoli to the mixture.
  7. Simmer the chowder for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
