Delicious oatmeal apple bars combine the warmth of cinnamon, sweet raisins, and applesauce in a wholesome treat perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert for the whole family.

Ingredients

  • 1 c. margarine, softened
  • 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 c. applesauce (with no sugar added)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 c. quick-cooking rolled oats (uncooked)
  • 1/2 c. raisins
  • 1 Tbsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. baking powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine margarine, brown sugar, applesauce, and vanilla.
  3. Stir by hand until well blended.
  4. Add oats, raisins, cinnamon, and baking powder; mix well.
  5. Pour batter into a greased 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
  7. Let cool then cut into 24 squares.
