Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 c. rolled oats
  • 3/4 c. seedless raisins
  • 1/2 c. nuts

Instructions

  1. Cream sugar and shortening.
  2. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the sifted mixture alternately with milk to the creamed mixture.
  4. Add oats, raisins, and nuts.
  5. Mix well.
  6. Spread in a greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
  7. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
  8. Cool; cut into bars.
