Ingredients

  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 c. quick cooking oats
  • 1/2 c. nuts (optional)
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda

Instructions

  1. Cream shortening and sugars.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients.
  3. Add oatmeal and nuts.
  4. Mix well. Bake in a 350° oven for 10 minutes.
