Ingredients

  • 1 gal. tomato juice
  • 2 Tbsp. pepper
  • 3 Tbsp. cloves
  • 1 Tbsp. red pepper
  • sugar to taste
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 Tbsp. allspice
  • 3 Tbsp. mustard
  • 1 pt. vinegar

Instructions

  1. Put the spices in a spice bag.
  2. Cook the tomato juice with the spice bag until the mixture thickens.
  3. Add sugar to taste during the last few minutes of cooking.
  4. Optionally, add 2 or 3 tablespoons of cornstarch for more thickness and cook until well combined.
