Ingredients

  • 1 T sugar
  • 4 c chopped & peeled rutabagas
  • 3 c chopped & peeled potatoes
  • 1 chicken bouillon cube
  • 2 c boiling water
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 c grated Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle sugar over rutabagas and potatoes in a saucepan. Dissolve the chicken bouillon cube in boiling water.
  2. Pour the seasoned water over the vegetables.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer until the vegetables are tender.
  5. Drain the vegetables and mash them thoroughly.
  6. Add pepper and grated Cheddar cheese to the mashed vegetables.
  7. Beat the mixture until fluffy and well combined.
  8. Serve hot.
