Ingredients

  • 8 oz. uncooked lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 32 oz. extra thick Ragu spaghetti sauce
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 2 c. cottage cheese
  • 3 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef and chopped onion in a skillet.
  2. Drain excess fat from the beef mixture.
  3. Add the spaghetti sauce, water, and sugar to the skillet. Simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.
  4. In a greased 9 x 13-inch pan, layer one-third of the sauce mixture, half of the uncooked lasagna noodles, half of the cottage cheese, and one-third of the shredded Mozzarella cheese.
  5. Repeat the layers: sauce, noodles, cottage cheese, and mozzarella.
  6. Finish with a layer of sauce and sprinkle the top with a mixture of 1 cup Mozzarella and 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese.
  7. Cover the pan with foil.
  8. Refrigerate overnight for best flavor, or bake immediately at 350°F for 1 hour.
