Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup softened butter
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 cups Bisquick baking mix
  • 5.75 oz chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped peanuts

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F.
  2. Mix brown sugar, softened butter, vanilla, and egg yolk with a fork in an ungreased 13 x 9 x 2-inch rectangular pan.
  3. Stir in Bisquick baking mix until moistened.
  4. Press the mixture evenly into the pan.
  5. Bake until light brown, about 16 to 18 minutes.
  6. Immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the top of the baked mixture.
  7. Let stand for 3 to 4 minutes until the chocolate chips are softened.
  8. Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the surface.
  9. Sprinkle chopped peanuts on top.
  10. Cut into bars about 2 x 1.5 inches.
