Ingredients

  • 1 cup margarine
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Cream margarine and sugar until well combined.
  2. Add egg yolks and beat thoroughly.
  3. Sift dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt) together.
  4. Alternately add dry ingredients and milk to the creamed mixture, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
  5. Add vanilla extract and fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
  6. Pour batter into prepared cake pans and bake in a 375°F oven for 25 minutes.
  7. Can be used for cupcakes.
