Overtime Apple Cake

- Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, sift or mix well the flour, sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg.
- Add the diced apples, chopped walnuts (if using), 1/2 cup margarine or butter, and eggs to the dry ingredients.
- Mix until well combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
