Ingredients

  • 1 packet yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup margarine, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Combine yeast packets with warm water and a pinch of sugar; let it activate until frothy.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the egg and add sugar, milk, and melted margarine.
  3. Gradually add flour and salt to the wet ingredients, kneading into a smooth dough.
  4. Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven and prepare a 15 x 10-inch cookie sheet.
  6. Divide the dough into two portions and roll each into a rectangle to fit the sheet.
  7. Place the dough on the cookie sheet and add desired fillings if any.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 20 minutes.
